Going to be a Great week

This past week was the start of schools all across the area.  It was great having so many of our college students back worshiping with us yesterday.  As things get back into full swing, I can’t help but to be excited for what God is doing here at WestK, especially this week!  This Wednesday we are having our Haiti packing party starting at 6pm.  Beth Wehner has done a terrific job at getting us on task with this annual event.  Everyone is welcome to come participate in this event.  I know some of you might be coming to the church straight from work, so we will be serving hotdogs at the start of the packing party.  Following the packing party, we are hosting Till Our Renewal for a night of worship.  They are an energetic worship band out of Lansing and they will be leading us in raising praises to our father in heaven.

Currently, we are looking for a few more people to make some finger desserts (cookies, brownies, etc.) for before and after the night of worship.  If you would like to make some delicious snacks, please contact Sue at the office (269) 375-2202.  Then, Thursday night there is a large elder/deacon/staff meeting as we get on the ball for ministry this year.  I am very much looking forward to the conversations that will take place that night.  Finally, Sunday Bud will be preaching the start of Rev 3 - the church in Sardis, which fits great with the theme for Wednesday.  If you want to have an idea of the theme, look up and Read the start of Revelations 3.  Also, Brian Carter will be joining us again that morning to leading our praise team as we celebrate the risen Christ.  If you haven’t already, invite your friends and neighbors to the Night of Worship on Wednesday and/or to join you on Sunday as we meet with the risen God.

Lastly, I talked with Jonathan Wielhouwer  yesterday; he wanted to let all of you know that his 50 mile bike-a-thon was a success.  I want to encourage all of you who pledged to support him to fulfill your commitment as we support his overseas mission’s trip.

My morning Bible reading included John 14.  If you get a chance, go ahead and read it.  Verse 2 continues to stand out in my mind today.  “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
